Coffee Roasting in Amman


In wandering Amman's old market, Richard smelled a comforting smell--the aroma of roasting coffee. For the next hour Richard and I drank coffee, watched coffee being roasted, and talked coffee with the owner of the store, Safwat. He told us about a special Arabian style of coffee with unroasted coffee beans, ginger, cardamom, and saffron. It is something we will try when we return to Seattle/Shoreline.
